I'm aware the graphs have leveled out but I'm still watching the server to see if we're having any issues with the hard drives (which is why I haven't had the astronomers start up something new yet). I'll be updating some of the server code tonight and starting a few new searches which I think will help some of the problems with the ones we have running right now.

Project News: CUDA Application Update (0.24)

The issue observed over the past week with work units failing under certain conditions with NVIDIA GPUs has been resolved. The newest version of the application 0.24 contains the appropriate fix and an additional 5-10% performance increase from earlier optimizations.

Project News: e-Science 2009 and Status Update

Professor Szymanski recently presented our work at the 2009 e-Science conference in Oxford, UK. I've made a link to the paper available here: Robust Asynchronous Optimization for Volunteer Computing Grids, and slides of the presentation will be available later today. On another note, I submit my PhD thesis tomorrow, so I'll be able to get back working on server and application related issues full time for the next few weeks.

I'm still having some compilation issues with the new assimilator, but I'm hoping I'll have everything fixed and running sometime tomorrow.

We've finally gotten the server side code updated for the BOINC daemons. So within the next week we're going to make ATI applications available server side. More information to come after I recompile our assimilator/validator with the new code.

Looks like I have everything mostly back working, the only problem left is the purge daemon is crashing. I'm not going to be able to generate too much work until we fix this, as without any purging of results going on the server will grind to a halt rather quickly. Again, hopefully I'll have it working by the end of the day.

I've figured out the problem with the purge daemon, however it looks like I need to wait for labstaff for them to upgrade the database before it will be fixed. The assimilator and work generation seems to be working now, so as soon as that happens we'll be back up and running. Again, hopefully today, dependent on how fast labstaff gets back to me.
